I've been reading amy earles' blog for a while and always enjoy it and so admire her beautiful, sensitive work. Her paper dolls are almost heartbreaking to me for some reason--and what a cool thing, a paper doll? A wink to our little-girl days....so I broke down (because normally I'm so strong) and bought this one--i absolutely could NOT resist:
It actually comes unassembled. You have to cut them out and put them together yourself which sounds like so much fun I can't even believe it. I'm obsessed with Little Red anyway, so she belongs with me, I think :) And you can see this and her other lovely work here.
And then the always fabulous Julianna Swaney had a new addition to her shop that made me literally rip my hands off the keyboard and clap them over my mouth and make a high-pitched squeal. It was these and they are MINE:
Can you read what it says? "Good Luck Acorns" and then it's a package of 4 little tiny beautifully drawn acorns to wear, adorn oneself with, etc. Cant EVEN stand it. And then she was a very classy lady and threw in this as an extra little happy:
Which is, of course, a fox reading a book bookmark:) Kills me dead. And now they've both made me want to try and make paper dolls and buttons. Right now.
If you haven't already, do check out the shops of these very talented ladies. And I have links to their blogs on the left here on my own little bloggie for your viewing pleasures.
I hope this is a titillating wednesday for everyone...
