First item: this is the cake I was talking about the last post. I read about it here and her ravings prompted me to make it myself two nights later for a dinner party. And everything she said--ditto! It's so fabulous. The link above has the recipe, should you be so inclined...
Secondly: a new batch of hats are up in the shop! I was worried about using a new fabric for these because I was so happy with the other, but I am worried no more. The fabric is super cute and may even be better than the other with just slightly more elastic/stretch and maybe a tad more versatile, wardrobe-wise. I've sold a couple just walking around wearing it, so that seems like a pretty good sign :) I didn't offer the beading on them yet, but if you're reading this and want the beads/vintage buttons (like the one at the end of this post), just leave me a comment or get in touch with me through the etsy conversation feature and we can surely work something out.
(*Also--the skirt above is one I thrifted and hemmed. My first time hemming pleats! And, like most things, it was not near as hard as I had feared. I did it using a tutorial/how-to on Burdastyle. Those Burda girls, they are really something else.)
Lastly: new business cards! I struggle with the technical aspects of making these sorts of things, but I do so love when they come out :)
Ooh! A 4th item! I just ordered what may be my new favorite item of (vintage) clothing and a lot--yes a lot of 3 pairs--of what may be the most fabulous vintage shoes EVER. All of them are from etsy. If the universe or anyone in it loves me at all--they will get here veeeeeery soon and I will show and tell immediately... Literally my heart is beating fast right now. That might be a little weird....
