Obviously this one needs no introduction. I'm probably slightly predictable but my admiration for Ms. Brooks is impossible to deny. Pretty much on a daily basis. And like any person who ends up being an icon for their time, it's half her and half the time she came around in. Yet and still, I find her utterly compelling.

I obviously love "Pandora's Box" but I recently watched another film of hers where she was a supporting character. It's called "The Show-off" and it's so interesting to see someone else as the star. But Louise has such sass and who she is is so clear, even with far fewer lines. As an actress it was really interesting to see that charisma before it was "official." Also--these silent actors and actresses are really good! I mean, as with anything, there's likely to be a stinker here and there, but I've really gained so much respect for what must be improvised dialogue between line cards. How clear you have to be when no one knows what you're saying; it really requires a good bit of efficiency and that's no easy task.
Anyway--I took some more stills with my screen capture feature. They're not great quality, but I had to record some of the looks and share...
I also love this fashion era, most of all the hats, the hats are so wonderful.
